Mr Garraway is known as one of the Welders/Fabricators in Bartica and also as a member of the Bartica Lions Club. This is as a result of the actions undertaken in his younger years. Skipp, as he is known in the town, started out in the Guyana Youth Core after primary school then went to Makouria Village to serve as a Workshop assistant for 5 years. He then became a Utility Personnel for heavy equipment under the Upper Mazaruni Road Project and subsequently the Hinterland Road Development (Mabura). Mr Garraway continued to progress in this field as he grew older and eventually started his own welding workshop to prove the village of Bartica; he also trained youths in this field as well. Mr Garraway joined the local Lions Club where he served as president of the organization four times and currently has the position as Treasurer for the fifth time, he also served as the zone chairman once where he was responsible for 6 other Lion Clubs in Guyana. Among the other positions Skipp is currently the International Relations Officer for district 60 which consist of Guyana, Suriname, and some of the Caribbean Islands. Mr Garraway is also a father and husband who owns Leanna’s Kiddies Park which started out as just a playing area for his daughter and her friends. He is very committed to Community Development and continues to serve his constituency (Four).
