Mr Melville is a community leader with one of the leading civil society organizations in Bartica and Region 7 Cuyuni/Mazaruni. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Hope Foundation and was elected as constituency representative and serves as a Councilor on the Bartica Town Council. Ivor has a Vision and passion for youth rising up in the areas of innovativeness, business, academics, arts, and in righteousness. His involvement in community developmental project and working with grassroots has set the tone for growth and self development. He has spent most of his adult years in unstinting service in the fields of community based health, social and youth friendly services; and skills training programs. He is also a husband and a father.

Message: The Residents and stakeholders can transform this newly established town of Bartica from the traditional development model, to one that is more sustainable with people at the centre. Development and empowerment of every citizen are viewed as critical and as such, we must commit to “grassroots development through a process that is inclusive and sustainable.” To offer a high quality lifestyle, this requires a holistic approach. Staying focus and being positive that our collective work will successfully combat challenges and roadblocks in community development; that we can build and invest financial, human, physical, and social capital to promote economic mobility in our town.
