Mr. Porter was born on the Essequibo Coast and at age seventeen he came to live in Bartica with his family. George is married and had three children with only one still alive, he also has six grandchildren. Mr. Porter started out his work life transporting timber then as a mechanic and has worked in the mining industry for over 30 years and is now a pensioner. He lives in Constituency eight and works along with the councilor there to achieve their goals.
