On Wednesday 28th November 2018, the Municipality of Bartica held its internal elections with purpose of electing the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the 2nd Council and the appointment of a Finance Commitee.

Current Mayor Gifford Marshall was sucessfully re elected for a second term owning to a majority vote of 14 out of the possible 18 votes. APNU councilor and constituency #1 representative Ms. Arita Embleton was elected Deputy Mayor by a majority vote.

The Finance Committee, appointed to serve; Councillors Kenneth Williams, Alvern McKenzie, Zulficar Hack, Estiva Lake and Deputy Mayor Arita Melville.

The Second Council will have its first Statutory meeting in January 2019 after the HE President David Granger swears in the newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
